FROM THE ARCHIVES...

Malini and David were enjoying a beautiful spring day in Philadelphia: the sun was out, the temperature was 70. It was a great day. In search of lunch, our two heroes were looking for food in the Olde City section of Philly.

To set the scene, Malini is a fervent Obama supporter sporting an Obama '08 sticker while David is a die-hard Hillary fan wearing a Hillary sticker. While walking down Market Street, searching for a lunchtime treat, they stop by a quaint French-Asian fusion restaurant that looked promising. It is here that they met the hostess.

Hostess (sees David's Hillary sticker and immediately looks happy): Oh, you're voting for Hillary? I like her too! (said in a Jersey girlish accent)

David: Oh, so you don't like him? (pointing to the Obama sticker Malini's wearing)

Hostess: Oh no! I think he's a terrorist.

(Looks of disbelief cross David and Malini's faces as they wonder what kind of joke she's playing on them.)

Hostess: We don't even know where he came from, he just showed up. And then there's his name. I really think he's a terrorist... He's out to get us.

(David is unable to to keep a straight face and stares off in the other direction while Malini continues to look in disbelief at the hostess. David regains his composure enough to ask the following question trying to change the subject.)

David: So what's good to eat here?

Hostess: Oh, I don't really know. To be honest, I've never really had Oriental food. It's like raw fish, I hear it's good though.

(David cannot believe the words coming out of her mouth and is once again forced to look away. Malini is dumbfounded but continues to look at the waitress.)

David: Okay, well, we're going to check out what else there is down the street.
(Stifled laughter turns to full out hysterics as Malini and David walk away from the restaurant.)

Classy place. Dinner entrees range from $20-26/plate.
